ByteDance releases consumer version of Doubao phone assistant, first shipping on Nubia NaviX Ultra

ByteDance has officially released the consumer version of its Doubao phone assistant, according to ChainCatcher. Built on the Doubao app, the assistant works with smartphone makers at the system level and focuses on core user experiences including interaction, task execution, local memory, and search, as the company tests broader AI use cases on mobile devices. Compared with the technical preview introduced late last year, the newly released consumer version places more weight on stability and everyday usability. The first consumer release will be available on the Nubia NaviX Ultra smartphone. Reservations have already opened, and the device is scheduled to go on sale on Sept. 16.
